A brick laying party was held today at Missouri Southern's alumni relations building known as "the mansion" by the Master Restorations Fund.
It's part of a brick campaign program where donors can buy bricks and get their message or name on the brick. So far they've sold $37,000 in bricks.
The program is designed to raise money towards restoring the mansion and so far they have raised a total of $2 million.
The group says they have no money goal because they want to fill six sections of brick.
With this latest brick laying party they will almost have one full section complete.
"It's a special fund that we can use to help," says alumni director Lee Ellif Pound. "This building on campus is 100% donation, it is not state funded as far as the building. So it's important for us to continue to raise funds to support the university."
