At tonight's city council meeting, a Joplin recycling company seeks a permanent permit.
U.S.A. Metal Recycling is located off West 7th street in Joplin and is looking to expand it's facilities. The company moved to that location within the past year.
However various neighbors are for and against having the business, so close to home.
Joe Odneal can see the business from his backyard and says he wakes up to noise most mornings at 7 a.m.
"It really affects us," Odneal says. "When we get our days off and 7 o'clock in the morning things start banging around and making all that noise, it's just not right."
"I'm all for recycling and there are a lot of industries that are around here that are loud, so it's not going to bother me any at all, so I'm all for it," says another neighbor, Lacy Connor.
At tonight's city council meeting the business and neighbors will speak up about what they want.
