Joplin daycare destroyed by the tornado is ready to reopen

A ribbon cutting today marked the completion of construction and licensing for the Kids Korner daycare which is scheduled to open for kids on Monday.

Today the owners dedicated the returning daycare to two boys they helped raise there who have both passed away.

Zachary Treadwell was killed in the tornado and Devin Christensen died from a brain tumor. Their relatives say both boys developed a bond with the daycare operators that continued after the kids went on to school.

Kids Korner can serve up to 44 children ages 12 and under.
