MIAA Inducts 1992 NCAA D-II Softball National Champions into Hall of Fame

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As a part of the MIAA end of year banquet their Hall of Fame class for 2012 will be inducted.  Among the twelve individuals and five national championship teams is the 1992 NCAA D-II Softball National Champs from Missouri Southern.

The 1992 team, which was inducted into the Missouri Southern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002, went 50-7 during that year and was a perfect 10-0 in MIAA play.  The Lady Lions, as they were called then, swept through every post season tournament going 4-0 in the MIAA Tournament, 3-0 in the NCAA Midwest Regional, and 3-0 at the National Tournament.  Coach Pat Lipira was inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame in 2011 as well as the Missouri Southern Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998.
 
The Class of 2012 has been officially inducted into the hall at the annual MIAA Awards Dinner, which was held at 7 p.m. CT, June 7 at the Downtown Marriott in Kansas City, Mo.
