Hundreds of kids show up for a public safety kid's day camp in Parsons, Kansas.
It's the eighth year for the camp, with topics that include demonstrations about seat-belts, severe weather and water safety.
Organizers say this camp is important as a preventative measure for summer injuries.
"Every year we see a spike in injuries and preventable injuries in the summertime. whether it be bike accidents or water accidents, or things like that with the kids," says Labette County EMS Chief Chris Way. "We try at the beginning of the summer every year to host an event where we can teach the kids some safety techniques so we can avoid some of those injuries."
