The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma held a groundbreaking today for it's new public safety building.
The building will house the Eastern Shawnee Tribe Police Department, and may hold other departments in the future.
Speakers at today's event included Chief of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe Glenna Wallace, the Redstone Construction vice-president and the Eastern Shawnee Chief of Police.
"It provides services to our people so, safety, security it will be for the entire complex," says Wallace. "Plus we are putting in an elders housing division that is going to start in a few months. Law enforcement is there for the people so that they know that they are safe."
This will be the first building of their expansion to a new area of property.
