Around 15 former and current teachers with the teachers organization Delta Alpha Kappa Society helped plant a garden at the Children's Center in Joplin.
The group also donated the plants and flowers and hope this garden will serve as a symbol.
"The importance of it is to see things growing," says Shelley Kneelend of the Alpha Delta Kappa Society. "Children are growing every day and we work with children. It is important to not only work with children on a daily basis in school, we felt the flowers would be a symbol of that growing."
The group selected the Children's Center as their annual charity.
