Joplin Schools receive $250,000 donation

Updated:

PotashCorp in Joplin presented the Joplin Schools Foundation with a $250,000 donation this afternoon.

The check will go towards rebuilding area schools destroyed by the Joplin tornado last year.

"This donation is obviously one of the larger donations we have received from the business world and it can't be appreciated enough, can't even really put it into words what this means to us," says Joplin Schools Superintendent C.J. Huff PhD.  "We have had a longstanding relationship with the Potash Corporation.  They have been working with McKinley Elementary School for a number of years as a business partner and for them to step up to this level just means a lot."

PotashCorp set aside funds at each of their locations to raise the money for the donation.
