Posted: Updated:

A Parsons, Kansas resident says he purchased the contents of a storage locker, brought the boxes home, and when he opened one of the boxes he found what he believed were two pipe bombs.

The Parsons Police Department tells us the call came in at 3 p.m. and they determined that there were two pipe bombs, believed to be live, at the 1308 South 12th residence.

Residents in the surrounding area were evacuated - from 10th through 13th Streets, between Leonard and Briggs.

As of 7 p.m. Monday, the bomb squad was still at the location.

Police expected that residents who had evacuated would be allowed to return to their homes at 8 p.m.
