Police are investigating the cause of a fire in Crawford County, Kansas.
Several southeast Kansas fire departments worked together to extinguish a Girard house fire on Thursday.
A nearby rancher moving hay spotted the fire at 118 North 190th Street in Girard and called 911.
When firefighters arrived flames were shooting from the home.
"Thankfully, no one inside at the time that the fire began, we'll be looking hard at the cause of the fire," says Dan Peak of the Crawford County Sheriff's Department. "We have the fire marshal contacted as well to assist us in that."
The father of the homeowner says the home was not insured.
