Don't feed the geese or ducks in Carl Junction

Do not feed the geese or ducks in Carl Junction.  The city council has approved an ordinance prohibiting the feeding of geese and ducks at any of the city's parks citing a public health concern.

Mayor Mike Moss says waste left behind by the waterfowl is polluting yards and driveways and causing nutrient loading in the lake.

Moss says the problem stemmed from a resident who fed the birds but passed away, so the waterfowl just moved to nearby bodies of water.
