A man charged in a Joplin burglary that ended in murder was sentenced today to 15-years in prison.Cody Stephens is one of five defendants charged with robbing and killing Jacob Wages.
Stephens has been sentenced to 15-years for a charge of second degree murder, and five years for first degree burglary. The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning the maximum amount of time he will spend in prison will be 15-years.In July 2012 police found Wages, 23, dead in his home on South Pearl.
Police believe the five-men went into the home to rob it, and that Wages might have interrupted the burglary.
