Representatives from the Missouri Dental Association presented the Community Clinic in Joplin with a $3,000 check today.
The proceeds were raised during a tornado recovery tour, reception and dinner for local dentists hosted by the association following last years tornado.
The clinic serves more than 5,000 patients a day and officials hope the donation will help to continue and enhance services.
"They voted to choose the Joplin Community Clinic and the dental side of it as people that were doing great work and that the money raised would be to support that ongoing work for them," says Paul Roberts of Missouri Dental Association.
The Community Clinic was founded in 1993 to serve short term healthcare needs of the uninsured in the Joplin area.
