Joplin Memorial Run donates more than $30,000 - KOAM TV 7

Joplin Memorial Run committee members presented checks Friday for more than $10,000 each to Bright Futures, Rebuild Joplin, and the United Way of Southwest Missouri & Southeast Kansas.

All three organizations attended the presentation at Freeman's Sports Medicine and Rehab Center.

The contributions are in addition to more than $3,000 that was directly donated by those who took part in the inaugural Memorial Run back in May.

"To be able to give, what to us is a very significant donation, to these three great charities, the entire Active Lifestyle Board and the Joplin Memorial Run committee could not be more pleased with the way it turned out," says Audie Dennis of the Joplin Memorial Run.

The 2013 Memorial Run is scheduled for May 18.
