Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder has been named Chairman of the House Interim Committee on Disaster Response, formed to assess the state's ongoing disaster recovery efforts and its preparedness level for future catastrophic events.
On Friday, Kinder spoke about his new position during a press conference at Cunningham Park.
"It is going to help Missourians by making certain that the next time another disaster hits, that state and local government has learned lessons from this disaster and is ready to respond in a efficient and timely manner," says Kinder.
Kinder also says he welcomes the opportunity to head the committee.
