Argument turns into auto versus pedestrian; assault charge pending

One Joplin man is struck by a vehicle and another is accused of assault after an argument spirals out of control.

Joplin police responded to an assault Monday afternoon at 2323 South Joplin Avenue.

Authorities say two roommates got into an argument when Michael Roland was hit by a vehicle in the alley behind the residence.

Roland was transported to Freeman West Hospital for an injury to his shoulder and neck area.

Police arrested a 40 year-old man for probable cause first degree assault.  Charges are pending.
