Many families lost photographs after last May's tornado in Joplin, but they may not be lost forever.
The daughter of long-time Joplin photographer Murwin Mosler salvaged tens of thousands of negatives after the tornado destroyed her father's studio last year. Mosler meticulously logged Joplin's memories for seven decades.
Though he passed in 2003, the Joplin Museum and his daughter are working to find the owners of these memories on film.
"It's phenomenal, it just brings back so many memories and Merwin was a wonderful photographer and a wonderful man," says Cathi Cassady, who had been photographed by Mosler. "I'm just delighted for the pictures."
Anyone who was photographed by Mosler is encouraged to stop by the Joplin Museum. You can also visit this gallery on Facebook to see if you recognize anyone.
