Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg was recognized today by the state of Kansas and the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative for its role in preventing certain infections in patients.
The Via Christi Hospital Intensive Care Unit received a certificate of recognition for going 15 consecutive months without a single Central Line-Associated Blood Stream Infection.
"We all work very hard to keep our infection rates down so this is a wonderful honor for the hospital," says Winnie Innes of Via Christi.
Forty-five states currently participate in the Stop BSI Initiative.
