7th Annual "Summer Social on the Square" in Neosho

News release from the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce:

The Downtown Events Committee of the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce is finalizing plans on the 7th Annual "Summer Social on the Square" to be held on Saturday, August 18th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Neosho's Historic Downtown Square.

Local businesses and civic groups are invited to participate.  If your business or club is interested in setting up a booth and provide a free kids' game, please contact the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce by Friday, August 3rd.

The focus of this event is to provide children of all ages an end of summer event with lots of fun games with little or no expense to them or their parents.  The Neosho Masonic Lodge will set-up at The Civic with the "Missouri Chip Program".  This is a free Child Identification Program.

A new feature this year will be "Bathtub Races" and wheel barrel races.  Teams consisting of 5 members each for the bathtub race.  Businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the bathtub race and need to pre-register by contacting the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce.  The bathtub race is open to participants 18 years and there is a $15 fee to enter.

In addition, there will be food, music, entertainment, and a lot of fun before going to the "Cinema in the Park" in Big Spring Park.
