Via Christi lets public see simulated surgery room

A simulated surgical room was on display today at the Pittsburg Community Middle School gym.  It's designed for the public and Via Christi employees to get an idea of what the actual $18 million surgical center will look like.

It's an interactive community event to help in the planning of the new surgery center.

"I think that as we're spending the $18 million to build a new surgery center, it's nice for them to see what the future is going to look like and the care that they will be able to have here in their own town," says Brenda Lemmons of Via Christi Hospital.

Lemmons says the technology is uncomparable to what the hospital currently uses.  She says it makes the workflow more ergonomic and efficient.
