Motorcycle collides with semi on I-44

Shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon crews were called to a crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer.

The crash occurred in the eastbound late of Interstate 44 in Missouri near the 11.8 mile marker.

The Joplin Police Department tells us the motorcycle was attempting to enter I-44 when it collided with the semi.  They believe the motorcycle driver may have been driving too fast.

The driver of the truck is ok, however, the motorcycle driver has been taken to a local hospital with injuries.

CORRECTION:  It was initially reported the crash occurred in Oklahoma.  In fact, the crash occurred in Missouri.
