The Tri-State Water Coalition works to bring new water infrastructure to the Jasper County area.
Coalition members brought their ideas to the Jasper County commissioners meeting today.
They proposed a new joint water utility commission that would be geared toward building water infrastructure.
Water coalition officials say in times of low water, it's necessary to use other resources to keep water at usable, affordable levels.
"At least 10,000 of those cards have been returned to us because of change of addresses from the voter and they haven't told us that is a cost of $6,000 to the county besides reissuing who we have a new address and send them out again," says Jasper County clerk Bonnie Earl.
The primary is a week from today.
You can change your address at the polls but you must register to vote for the presidential election by September 25.
