Parsons Police arrest suspect in child abuse case

News release issued by the City of Parsons

PARSONS, KS - Around noon on Tuesday, Parsons Police Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from 1607 Gabriel. Upon arrival, officers found a 6-week-old girl with multiple injuries.

The baby was taken to Labette Health via EMS and was later transported to another hospital for additional treatment.

Currently, a 22-year-old male suspect is being held on multiple charges in the Parsons City Jail and is awaiting formal charges in Labette County District Court. 

Parsons Police Chief, Scott Gofourth said that circumstances surrounding the child's injuries are currently under investigation. Anyone with details regarding this case should call 421-7057 or send an email to tips@parsonspd.com.
