Community fair held at Pittsburg State

Updated:

Pittsburg State University hosted a community fair today.  Groups were competing for the students business and some were looking for new members and volunteers.

Churches put on displays, as well as businesses ranging from sweets to cell phones.

Some such as Via Christi Hospital touted services they offer and one group registered students to vote.

"I don't know if the baked goods helped but we are just yelling them over - 'are you registered?' and people will stop," says Susy Hammons of Progressive Alliance.

Fair organizers say the event is a reminder to how important the students are to the community.
