Parsons man detained following explosion

Statement from the City of Parsons:

PARSONS, KS — On Tuesday night around 10:42 p.m., Parsons Police were called to the 1500 Block of Corning in response to what was reported as a loud explosion.

Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, Police determined that an individual used black powder and a firecracker to make a small explosive device. An 18-year-old, male from Parsons was detained for criminal use of explosives.
