Pineville city hall unveils mural

In Pineville, Missouri the city hall gets a face lift thanks to a historical mural and some donated time.

The mural is located on a blank wall inside the building.

The large painting depicts two things the city is known for, canoes and the Jesse James movie filmed in the community in the 1930's.

The local artists say it was important to donate their time for the benefit of the community.

"I felt like it was important, that it was important to get other community members to help paint this so it just seemed like a natural solution to just volunteer and everyone was excited to do it," says mural artist Robin Barnes.

"I think it is a great addition to our town," says Pineville Mayor Pat Beshears.  "It really brightens up our city hall and it's a focus, when people come in to city hall, they have something to look at and it's a conversation piece."

The mayor says the piece has been so popular she hopes to create more murals around Pineville in the future.
