Joplin detective honored for role in child porn investigation

Joplin Police Detective Chip Root has been named the local recipient of the Guardian Justice Award for his work in a child pornography investigation that resulted in a federal indictment and conviction.

Root received the award at a training seminar in Springfield, Missouri.
