Two Search Warrants served in connection with the sale of synthetic drugs.
Monday, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Southwest Missouri Drug Task Force and deputies from the McDonald County Sheriff's Office served search warrants on The Jug Store and Joy's Country Package related to the possession and sale of synthetic drugs known as syn, incense and other names.
The Jug Store is located in Jane, along 71 Highway, just north of the Arkansas State Line. Joy's Country Package is located on E Highway, just north of the Arkansas State Line.
Undercover officers purchase product last week from both stores believed to be on a list of banned chemicals.
During the service of the search warrant, a large amount of produce was seized for testing. Preliminary numbers indicate that between 9000 and 10,000 packages of product were seized.
No arrests were made during the service of the warrant. The decision regarding the filing of criminal charges will be made by the McDonald County Prosecuting Attorney.
The agencies involved continue to investigate other retail businesses who may be selling banned product and more raids are possible.
