Joplin Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean will be doing a coin toss for a match at the U.S. Open on Thursday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
She was invited by the U.S. Tennis Association president.
"They invited us to go up there because they wanted to honor Joplin," says Mayor Colbert-Kean. "They said they wanted to keep us in the remembrance and what we've been doing and how far we've come in the year and where we're going. So we're excited to share that with the world."
The U.S. Tennis Association is paying for the trip.
