Pittsburg High students start online store

Updated:

Pittsburg High School students have opened an online school store to sell school memorabilia.

Some students make the items in classes and others, from the management classes, run the store.

The store sells items like t-shirts, mugs and coasters.

Students came up with the idea during a Marketing Club competition.  They noticed Blue Valley Northwest had a school store online and wanted to start one of their own.

Students say they're trying to make it just like a regular business.

"That's what we are trying to do, make this as real as possible," says Isus Ruiz, a senior at PHS.  "Let the people know, hey, we're actually really working like everybody else is.  We're not just high school students, you know.  We are going to put up a store.  We are actually going to dedicate ourselves to something like that, like, every other person you see out there, like an adult."

The students store is at DragonGear.co
