
A man is injured while preparing for a fireworks display that will be conducted as part of a National Fireworks Association convention in Joplin, Missouri.

The National Fireworks Association has invited the public to attend both Friday's display and Saturday's grand finale. Attendees are to enter the old Joplin 66 Speedway through the 13th Street entrance. Both displays begin at 8 p.m. and are expected to last until 11 p.m. Cost is $10 per vehicle.
