Saint Mary's in Joplin received a check for $10,000 from area fireworks distributors to help in the rebuilding process of the church.
Joplin's Black Market Fireworks is owned by a couple whose children attend the school.
After the tornado the Colson's banded together with Winco Fireworks and other distributors to start collecting donations, and then matched them.
The companies felt they needed to help their neighbors out.
"It just kind of touched our hearts," says David Collar of Winco Fireworks. "We, you know, wanted to give back to the area where we grew up."
Saint Mary's announced it will rebuild the church but has not decided if it will rebuild the school at this time.
CORRECTION: It was originally reported that Joplin's Black jack Fireworks made the donation. In fact it was Joplin's Black Market Fireworks.
