Miami, Okla. man charged in school bomb threat, attempted bank robbery

A 24-year-old from Miami, Oklahoma faces charges in court after admitting to involvement in a bomb threat at a Four State high school.

Typically we do not report bomb threats to deter copy cats.  However, this suspect was arrested and is charged in the case.

Yesterday shortly after 11 a.m. police received a call from Bobby Harris, 24, stating that he put a bomb inside the Miami High School.  Students and staff at the high school evacuated the school.

Within 35 minutes police found Harris near a wooded area behind the Miami Walmart.

Harris admitted to the call and also admitted to calling Welch State Bank demanding money.

He was charged with attempted bank robbery, misuse of calling 911, and threatening acts of violence with a bomb.

Harris is being held at the Ottawa County jail.

His bond is set at $200,000.
