Kansas officials discuss the state's new business environment.
The state workers came to Independence today to talk with small business owners.
Earlier this year, Kansas enacted tax reform changes for 2013. The state has also tried to recruit new businesses to Kansas and create job growth.
"It allows the private business owners to keep their money and they can use that to invest in other equipment, to hire other employees and to grow their business," says Pat George, Kansas Secretary of Commerce.
Today's stop in Independence moved on to other places in Kansas.
