Hundreds attend job fair at Downstream

Updated September 18, 2012:  Downstream Casino Resort hosted hundreds of job seekers today at their job fair.

Downstream is looking to hire 75 new employees before opening its second hotel in December.

Organizers say the job fair should make the hiring process quicker.

"The biggest thing we are trying to accomplish today is to give people the opportunity to come and apply but at the some time they are going to come and meet with a lot of our management staff in a lot of different departments to help expedite the process and make it a little bit quicker," says Steven Drewes, General Manager of Downstream Casino.

Downstream Casino currently employs over 1,100 people.

Reported September 17, 2012:  Downstream Casino Resort is looking to fill 75 new jobs before the December opening of its second hotel.

On Tuesday, the resort will be hosting a job fair in the pavilion behind the hotel.

The event will run from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The new hotel will have more than 150 rooms and other amenities where positions will need to be filled.

Resort managers hope to have most of the new employees come from this job fair.
