Mercy Hospital takes time for tea. It's a tradition the hospital has celebrated for 185 years, dating back to when Catherine McAuley first opened the doors of her House of Mercy.
Many reflect on Mercy Day and the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, comfort and care.
Members of the Mercy team say it is important to take a day to remember their founder.
"Without her we wouldn't be here," says Kathy Cowley, Obstetrics Manager for Mercy. "I believe that, because her ministry grew from helping woman and children to helping health care, it's just a great progression."
"A lot has happened over the last year and a half or so and it has always meant that we will be cared for, I think that was her ultimate mission was to care for people in a loving and respectful way," says Libby Clark, an emergency room nurse at Mercy.
