Missouri's governor has announced a $1 million award to help boost exports for the state's small businesses.
The funding came from the U.S. Small Business Administration. It hopes to increase the number of Missouri small businesses that export, which would create more jobs and more investment in the state.
Missouri set a state record last year with $14.1 billion in export sales revenue.
And through the first half of 2012 the state is pushing to break that record, ahead of its 2011 export totals, by about 6%.
