AKIN VISITS JOPLIN

Congressman and current United States Senate Candidate Todd Akin brought his campaign to Joplin today. Akin kicked off his state-wide tour yesterday. Yesterday was also the deadline for candidates to pull out of the race. Akin reaffirmed his position to seek Claire McCaskill's seat. Akin says his views align with most Missouri residents on such issues as gun control, farm spending and health care. While in Joplin Akin briefly mentioned and apologized for his comments regarding "legitimate" rape and a woman's ability to terminate a pregnancy caused by a rape.
