The civil war battle of Newtonia Missouri celebrates 150 years with reenactments.
Thousands of visitors from across the four states came to watch various reenactments from the famous battle. Re-enactors represented both Federal and Union forces. They held drills, cannon firing and demonstrated some graphic scenes of medical treatment from the era.
"We've actually owned this particular property since 2002, so this is the, we've had different events going on here over those years, but this is really the biggest event we've had out here" says Larry James, President of the Newtonia Battle Fields Protection Association.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of those lost will be held at the site on Sunday 9/30
