Joplin paints the town Green & Gold

Joplin is painting the town Green & Gold this week as part of homecoming festivities at Missouri Southern as it celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Business owners can win cash prizes for decorating with MSSU colors and signs.

First place wins $1,000, second place wins $750, and third place wins $500.

Bob Kelly's State Farm Insurance business is getting into the competition.

"Bob is actually an alumni of the Kappa Alpha order chapter here and so he called us up and asked us if we wanted to do it for him and we said sure, why not," says Cole Landis, a Kappa Alpha member.

Winners will be introduced at the October 6 homecoming parade and also will be featured on the MSSU website:  www.mssu.edu
