A local food pantry is asking for your help.
The Southeast Kansas Ministerial Alliance Thrift Shop and Food Pantry in Baxter Springs says more people are signing up for assistance and the service simply doesn't have enough food to meet the demand.
When the pantry opened 25 years ago it served only a few people.
Now it serves five to six per day and it's getting more applications for assistance.
Years ago the pantry would receive enough donations during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season to get through the year but that's no longer the case.
