The seat for county attorney in Crawford County, Kansas is up for grabs as Angela Trimble tries to oust incumbent Michael Gayoso.
Trimble is a former assistant county attorney in Crawford County. The Democratic candidate says practicing law for 17 years gives her the experience needed to fill this role.
"I had a reputation as being a strong prosecutor and that I believed in my cases and that I wasn't afraid to take them to trial if necessary," says Trimble.
Gayoso, a Republican, has held the office of county attorney since 2009. He has 13 years of experience as a lawyer. He says his 96% felony conviction rate while in his current position is reason for re-election.
"I have been in the courtroom obtaining over 600 felony convictions, all of this done in just under four years," says Gayoso.
