5,000 pounds of unused of expired meds taken by Kansas in Drug Take Back Day

Kansas authorities say statewide they took more than 5,000 pounds of unused or expired medications during the National Drug Take Back Day.

The state attorney general says the program has taken more than two million pounds of drugs nationally over the past two years, including more than 12 tons in Kansas.

Experts say flushing drugs or throwing them away leads to safety and health problems.
