Some middle school students in Jasper, Missouri got a chance to learn about careers in television today.
Eighteen different speakers talked with students about TV careers, including our Chief Photographer Aaron Thompson.
Students were surveyed to see which area of the industry they were most interested in.
They could choose from technology engineering, arts and communication, or human resources.
School officials say programs like this help to broaden students horizons with careers they may be interested in.
"It is very important because kids need to be exposed to different careers that are out there, otherwise they only know what their parents do or their extended family members and friends do," says Dana Sisk of the Jasper School District. "It brings in some ideas they probably never thought of before."
The Department of Secondary Education works with the middle school to teach students about different careers.
