Blasting for wastewater project will cause temporary road closures in Joplin

The City of Joplin alerts drivers that Murphy Boulevard, from Main Street to 4th Street will experience temporary closings to through traffic during the week of Monday, October 22 through Friday, October 26 due to wastewater drainpipe work being completed in that area.

Project-related blasting of subgrade rock will be completed near Murphy Boulevard, just west of Landreth Park. This will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week.  Detour routes will be available during the closings. Drivers will need to utilize the alternate routes during this period, and should use caution when traveling in this area.

The work is being completed by the City's contractor, Rosetta Construction, in order to replace drainpipes for a wastewater collection project.
