Marathon Ministry Gives Half A Million Dollars of Goods to Joplin Tornado Survivors

A national organization comes to Joplin to give away over $500,00.00 worth of items to tornado survivors.

Hundreds of families affected by the May 2011 tornado, received their free household goods. Participants were given a shopping cart and access to a tent filled with items, ranging from diapers to shoes. This is the 26th year Marathon Ministry has been offering its services nation wide.

"They're joyful because they're getting things that they need, but as I prayed for the line, this morning, the joy of the world just showed up on their faces" says President of Marathon Ministry Philip K. Cooper.
