A local winemaker helps to pour in some money towards Missouri Southern State University.
Andrew Pennington, the head winemaker at Keltoi Winery in Oronogo, Missouri, made a special 75th anniversary edition wine for MSSU's Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
For $20 a bottle proceeds benefit the organization's efforts to help local students.
Pennington made only 300 bottles of the Norton 2011 Missouri Table Red Wine, which he said comes from a "spectacular vintage due to the drought last year".
"What could we do special for this wine and of course we thought about Missouri Southern and everything they've done for us, so what better thing to do than make a specialty wine that helps the scholarship foundation," says Pennington.
The special edition wine is available at Caldone's in Joplin, Pistol Creek in Carthage, and Keltoi Winery in Carthage.
