New State Park in Butler, MO

After 150 years, a state park is named just south of Kansas City, honoring the Battle of Island Mound

The site is famous for helping change the attitude of black soldiers fighting in the civil war.

The historic Butler, Missouri site sits on 40 acres in butler and honors those solders who fought on October 27th in 1862.
