As the holiday season approaches, shoppers are hitting the stores hoping to find their great deals and looking to save. One thing some shoppers are grateful for layaway.
Signs are starting to pop up in front of stores that offer the service. Layaway allows customers to shop for the items they want, leave it with the store and pay a little at a time. Toys-R-us, K-mart, Sears and Walmart are just a few shops that offer the choose now pay later alternative.
Some local shoppers have noticed the service coming back to the stores they shop at and say it's a good idea.
"I think there's a reason why its coming back, I think people are realizing that credit is a problem and therefore these corporations are identifying that and so they're bringing back these programs so I think it's a good thing" says shopper Ross Smith.
"I do know it helps a lot of people especially around Christmas time, holidays, people need the cheer and that's one way of getting it" says shopper Keith Roland.
