Park rangers at the George Washington Carver National Monument speak with the public about different things the inventor as known for. The series is called agricultural "School On Wheels" and features a lecture on the Jesup Wagon. The wagon carried Carver's bulletin's and many useful supplies to farmers throughout the south.
Park ranger Douglas Bazar shares the story of the wagon and hopes to show the public that carver was more than just peanuts.
"Through educational outreach activities, as we refer to them today, he really helped to revolutionize learning in the south and agriculture in the south" says Bazar.
The next in the lecture series will be November 3rd and 4th and will deal with the struggle for education in a segregated America.
All lectures are free to the public.
